There are over 25 people on the Norburn Medical team! Our roster includes:

  • Eleven family physicians
  • Four Medical Office Assistants (MOAs)
  • Four referral clerks
  • Three reception staff
  • Two medical secretaries
  • One Licensed Practical Nurse
  • …plus our Operations Manager!

Our family doctors focus on providing primary health services. Our patients run the entire age spectrum from babies to centenarians. Each of our eleven family physicians provides full-service medical care while specializing in specific areas of medicine. Meet The Doctors

Dr. Karim Harjee

Dr. Karim Harjee

Dr Karim Harjee moved from his practice on Commercial St in Vancouver to join Norburn Medical in January 2005.

Dr. Namrata Jhamb

Dr. Namrata Jhamb

Dr. Jhamb graduated from medical school at the University of British Columbia in 2013 and completed her Family Practice residency in Victoria, BC, in 2015. She practises family medicine at Norburn Medical Clinic and delivers maternity care at Royal Columbian Hospital. Dr. Jhamb is an active board member of the Society of General Practitioners of BC. This role allows her to teach residents and lead seminars for new-in-practice family doctors. She also serves as a member of the Representative Assembly for the Doctors of BC. In her spare time, she enjoys dance, tennis, and swimming.

Dr. Look is a UBC graduate involved in teaching UBC medical students and family practice residents. He has been a clinical assistant professor at UBC and focuses on family practice.

Meet Dr. Albert Lui!

Dr. Lindsay McCaffrey

Dr. Lindsay McCaffrey

Dr. McCaffrey attended medical school at Queen’s University in Kingston, ON then did her family practice residency training at the University of Toronto. She moved back home to BC in 2011 and joined Norburn Medical in 2014. She loves the variety of people and medical problems that come with family practice. She sits on the Board of Directors of the Burnaby Division of Family Practice. In her spare time she enjoys skiing, traveling, tennis, cycling, cooking and photography.

Dr. Karimé Mitha

Dr. Mitha completed her medical degree at the University of British Columbia in 1990. Subsequently, she finished her rotating internship at the University of Ottawa and returned to the Lower Mainland to begin her family practice in Burnaby. She has over 22 years of experience in family practice and maternity care, with much of her practice focused on women’s health and primary care maternity. Since 2005, Dr. Mitha has been a clinical instructor at UBC in family practice and maternity. Between 2009 and 2012, she served as the co-chair of the Department of Obstetrics at Burnaby Hospital, and since 2011, Dr. Mitha has been on the board of the Burnaby Division of Family Practice. She enjoys running and hiking the North Shore trails in her spare time.

Dr. Khai Phan

Dr. Khai Phan

Dr. Phan is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan and has been working in BC for more than 15 years. He enjoys varied family practice and specializes in medical acupuncture and technology in medicine. Dr. Phan teaches UBC medical students part-time. He is an avid motorcyclist and loves to lead by example by staying fit and healthy by jogging and cycling.

Dr. Janie Sam

Dr. Janie Sam

Dr. Janie Sam is a graduate of the UBC medical school and has been practicing in Burnaby for more than 20 years. She has been at Norburn Medical since 2011. She enjoys seeing families and patients of all ages and is interested in preventive medicine and exercise. She enjoys hiking and skiing the North Shore mountains and Whistler when away from the office.

 

Dr. Gulraj Thauli

Dr. Gulraj Thauli

Dr Gulraj Thauli graduated from UBC Medical school in 1989. He worked in rural Ontario and BC before settling into practice at Metrotown in Burnaby in 1995. Dr Thauli joined Norburn Medical in 2011.
